The Khmer Pathway Curriculum is established by Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), the Khmer Pathway Curriculum serves as the national standard for educational delivery. It is a comprehensive program designed to furnish students with a robust foundation in core academic disciplines while embedding Khmer language, cultural heritage, and national values throughout the learning experience. The curriculum articulates clear academic standards, measurable learning outcomes, and consistent instructional practices across all grade levels.

Curriculum Structure by Stage
Kindergarten to Primary (KG3–5 and Grades 1–6)
Students follow a broad-based curriculum emphasizing foundational knowledge and skills in Khmer language, mathematics, science, social studies, and moral education. Instructional focus is placed on developing basic literacy and numeracy, critical thinking, creativity, and character formation. Co-curricular activities, sports, and the arts further support holistic development.
Lower Secondary (Grades 7–9)
The curriculum becomes increasingly specialized, preparing students for the demands of upper secondary education. Learners deepen their understanding of core subjects while being introduced to additional disciplines, including English language, technology, and vocational education. Instruction prioritizes the cultivation of critical thinking, research capabilities, and effective communication.
Upper Secondary (Grades 10–12)
Students engage with an advanced and specialized curriculum tailored to their individual interests and career aspirations. Academic and vocational pathways are available, allowing students to align their studies with their strengths and goals. Core subjects—Khmer language, mathematics, science, social studies, and moral education—are supplemented by elective courses, technical skills training, and career readiness programs. Instruction emphasizes higher-order thinking, independent research, and preparation for post-secondary education or direct employment.
